The Debate Team had a very successful tournament last weekend. Debate Parent Meeting Thursday Sept 7th

There is a debate parent meeting for anyone interested in joining the award winning Providence Hall Debate team this year. The meeting is at 6:30 in the commons area at the high school. The meeting will talk about expectations, tournament dates, fees and eligibility requirements. Come help us carry on our tradition of excellence!

Debate Mock Trial

The debate team had a mock trial held at the University of Utah. The University let us use their Moot Court Room, a court room the Utah Supreme Court sometimes uses. Both sides were very prepared and did an amazing job. Ultimately, the defendant was found not guilty.

Debate State Success!

Debate Copper Classic Results

The Debate Team competed in the largest tournament in the state this last weekend. The tournament was the Copper Classic held at Bingham High School. Debate Success at Skyhawk Smackdown!

The debate team had another successful tournament on November 18th and 19th. Monique Cauley had a very successful tournament. She ended up taking 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking, 7th place in Impromput Speaking and 2nd place in Public Forum with her partner, Nathan Lund. Hunter Haunting Debate Tournament

In our 2nd tournament of the year, the Providence Hall debate team ended up tied with Hunter High for 14th place.  Our team beat out some larger schools like: Corner Canyon, Stansbury, East, Highland, Westlake and Carbon, to name a few. Debate Success at First Tournament

The Providence Hall debate team got off to a good start in their first tournament.  Despite being the smallest team at the tournament and being mostly inexperienced novices, the team ended up taking 8th place over 3A,4A, and 5A teams.
